A Study of 26 Cases Early Gastric Cancer


Abstract
This Report is a clinical review and analysis of 26 cases of early gastric cancer comfirmed by surgery and pathological examination were treated at Department of Surgery, Cho Sun university hospital during the recent 6 years from May 1982 to May 1988.
The results were follows ;
1. Of 482 cases of gastric resection for stomach cancer, there were 26 cases of E.G.C, with the incidence of 5.4%
2. Out of 26 cases of E.G.C, 16 cases were male, 10 cases were female the ratio of male to female was about 1.6:1, and mean age was 48.8
and their peak incidence of age was 6 th decades (10 cases, 38.5%)
3. The major blood type of early gastric cancer patient was A type (14 cases 53.8%;
4. The preoperation diagnostic rate was 45.1% by X-Ray and 85% by endoscopy with biopsy.
5. The size of tumor was variable, 18 cases were less than 3 cm in diameter, and 1 case over 5 cm.
6. The common site were antrum (69.2%) and lesser curvature (84.5%) and the metastasis to regional lymph node was noted in 3 cases (11.5%)
7. The most common type of early gastric cancer were II c type (46.2%) and it,s com pined type (38.5%)
8. As of histologic type, well differented type 8 cases (30.8%) moderate differented type 4 cases(15.4%), poorly differented type 8 cases(30.8%), signet ring cell type 6 cases(2i.1%)
9. Radical operation were perfouned in all cases and postoperative chemothrapy and immunotherapy was done in the 3 cases with lymph node metastasis.
